CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A single-vehicle accident happened early Sunday morning on Wooldridge Road near Rodd Field Road that claimed the life of the driver.
CCPD said that crews responded to a major accident after 2 a.m. and discovered that a white car hit an electrical pole and caught fire.
The front seat passenger, a 21-year-old man was able to get out of the car with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver was unable to exit the car and died at the scene.
So far, investigators have determined that the car was traveling at a high speed but it is still unclear what caused the driver to lose control.
The crash remains under investigation.
