CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Here at 3NEWS we're highlighting amazing educators as we're in the middle of what feels like "awards season" for the school districts here in South Texas!
On Thursday Flour Bluff ISD celebrated their picks for 'Teachers of the Year,' who each exemplify excellence in the classroom.
3NEWS spoke with two winners, Margaret Barnec and Rebecca Almaguer, who were honored to be chosen out of a very talented pool of their peers.
"I'm just most proud that anyone would think enough to honor me in this way because there are just so many other people that are also just wonderful educators," Barnec said.
"I work with such a great group of other educators in our building," Almaguer said. "It's hard to pinpoint whenever we go to nominate teachers for teacher of the year. It's an awesome feeling."
Congratulations to these amazing teachers!
