CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — T.M. Clark Elementary School celebrated the ground breaking of its new campus that will be made specially for the young students.
The new campus will be built on Billy G Webb Drive right next to where the current elementary school stands.
The original campus was built for older students in middle school and had become outdated.
The new design will be solely for those smaller elementary students to enjoy and learn!
3NEWS spoke with the principal of the school, Melinda Pena, who is very excited for her staff and students.
"I feel honored more than anything because we get to share the excitement and the experiential learning that's gonna be available for students, just more opportunities for hands on learning," she said. "And we're really excited about the design and how it's not built like every other campus within our district."
Gregory-Portland ISD Superintendent Dr. Michelle Cavazos said that everyone is ready to watch the progress.
