CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It was a big day in downtown Corpus Christi, as a ribbon cutting was held for the grand opening of the new Holiday Inn Express.
The establishment is slated to receive reimbursements and incentives in support of downtown redevelopment. The Holiday Inn first opened up back in 1965 and hasn't changed a whole lot in recent years. There is hope that the change will bring even more life to the Bayfront.
"So, we're really targeting and focusing on developing our local entrepreneurs and helping them have an opportunity and place for them to showcase their talents because that's what makes Corpus Christi unique and interesting. So, it's really important to continue to do this to revitalize downtown to create a strong local economy and to create a good quality of life for our residents," said Executive Director of Downtown Management Alyssa Berra Mason.
Entrepreneurs who are interested in learning about incentive programs being offered can contact the downtown management district.
