CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A woman was arrested and charged with intoxication assault with a vehicle and serious bodily injury after she struck a moped scooter Saturday morning.
Police were called out to the Stripes on Holly and Everhart Road just before 7 a.m. this morning and found a damaged moped lodged under a black SUV.
The driver of the vehicle was then confronted and showed signs of intoxication.
Officers searched the area and discovered that the accident actually occurred on Holly Road and Flynn Parkway.
There investigators found the 58-year-old man that had been driving the moped.
He was sent to an area hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the SUV has been identified as 42-year-old Corri Ortiz. She was taken to the city's detention center for booking.
