Local law enforcement honored at Sunday's Dallas Cowboys Game

America's team may have lost to the Saints on Sunday, but it was still an exciting moment for our Coastal Bend first responders.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Coastal Bend first responders from the Corpus Christi and Kingsville Police Departments were on the field at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Sunday.

They were among hundreds of police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel from across Texas who attended the game as part of the Dallas Cowboys First Responder Appreciation event, according to CCPD.

Four Corpus Christi Honor Guard members joined their colleagues on the field during pre-game festivities by holding a giant United States Flag throughout the playing of the National Anthem before being inviting to remain and enjoy the game as guests of the Dallas Cowboys.

Police Chief Mike Markle, deeply moved by the honor, thanked the organization for recognizing everyday heroes in Texas and right here in the Coastal Bend.

Producer Kristin Haston contributed to this story.
