CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Local tattoo and piercing shop Forever Art Tattoo supported The Cattery Cat Shelter in the best way they know how — by giving purrrfectly permanent body art with proceeds going to help sweet feline friends.
Starting at $50 customers chose from a number of cat-inspired designs like various cat silhouettes to even fairy cats and space cats! According to shop officials, half of that money goes to the local cat shelter.
By 3 p.m. Friday the shop already saw 13 customers and had 13 in line!
While many were adding to their collection -- like one customer who was getting a fifth tattoo to show his love for his three cats, Basil, Inky and Pumpkin -- 20-year-old Jayden was rolling up her sleeve for her first tattoo, remembering a furry friend she once had.
Jayden and her bestfriend Mia were excited not only for their fresh ink, but for the opportunity to give back to a great cause.
Community shows love for cats and tats Friday
"There was no way we were gonna miss this, we had to be here," she said.
Volunteer coordinator with The Cattery, Josie Solis, said this was the third year the shelter partnered with Forever Art for the fundraiser. This was the first year 'Tats for Cats' returned since the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The Cattery would like to send a shout out to Forever Art Piercing and Tattoo studio," Solis said. "We're so thankful for the artists doing this for us and we're thankful for all of our community sponsors all of your help really helps us help out our cats, so thank you very much."
Stay tuned with both The Cattery and Forever Art for future collaborations.
