CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The city of Mathis officially has a new police chief.
The department announced Interim Chief Guillermo Figueroa has been chosen.
He served as the interim for the last six-months following the dismissal of former chief Scott Roush who was let go after allegedly taking drugs from the department's evidence locker. Mathis p-d says they are excited about the new leadership and vision for the department.
