CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Nueces County Medical Examiner has identified 48-year-old Lawrence W. Short as the man killed in the Buckingham Estates neighborhood of Brandon Drive on July 28.
CCPD first received a call from homeowner Douglas Watters at about 7:51 a.m. asking for officers to respond to the 7000 block of Brandon Drive, near Yorktown Boulevard and Staples Street.
A news release shows that the homeowner stated he shot Short, whom he claimed had broken in. When officers arrived, they found a the 48-year-old man inside the home.
Watters was arrested on July 29.
