Woman dies after major accident on Old Brownsville Road early Tuesday morning

Police said the woman was traveling south on Old Brownsville Road when she failed to maintain a single lane & crossed into the north bound traffic, hitting a car.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Kaylee Elizabeth Butts, 31, died following a major accident between two vehicles on the 4800 block of Old Brownsville Road and Horne Road on Tuesday morning. 

CCPD said she failed to maintain a single lane of travel and crossed over into the north bound traffic striking the second driver around 6:59 a.m.  

Corpus Christi police said the driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital with less severe, 'non-life-threatening' injuries for treatment. 

The roadway was shut down for several hours.

Update: The roadway has reopened. Please drive safely. TRAFFIC ALERT: Officers are working a crash at Navigation Blvd and Horne Rd. The intersection is closed. Please avoid the area if possible.
