CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The city announced Monday that several city offices and services will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, Nov.25.
When it comes to what that means for your neighborhood's garbage route, the city said there will be no trash or recycling pickup on Thursday, but solid waste services will resume Friday. If your trash route is in 'Zone 4,' meaning it is usually collected on Thursdays, you will need to remember to put your garbage and recycling bins out on Saturday morning.
Solid Waste Services:
Garbage and Recycling Collection:
- Thanksgiving Day, no trash or recycling collections scheduled
- Thursday’s garbage and recycling routes in Zone #4 (from Everhart to Cimarron) will be collected on Saturday, Nov. 25
- Friday, Nov. 24, Normal garbage and recycling schedule
- J.C. Elliott Transfer Station is closed on Thursday, Nov. 23 but will reopen Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Cefe Valenzuela Landfill is closed on Thursday, Nov. 23 but will reopen Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The city also announced that its 311 Call Center will be open Tuesday and Wednesday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
If you have an emergency and need to report a wastewater back-up or overflow, a gas leak or gas odor, a water main break, or street flooding, you may still call 311, and a dispatcher will connect emergency calls only on Thursday and Friday.
