Local PTA's, TxDOT and DPS partner up to teach better driving

To help protect young drivers on the road, the Corpus Christi Community Council of PTA's is putting on an event centered on being a "safe driver".

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Triple A reports that 60% of American drivers qualify as "unsafe drivers".

And to help protect young drivers on the road, the Corpus Christi Community Council of PTA's is putting on an event centered on being a "safe driver".

It's called the "Coastal Bend Drive Safe Project," a partnership by local PTA's, TxDOT and DPS.

The project will show teens what unsafe driving looks like and simulate its consequences with live demonstrations.

The event starts this Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Carroll High School parking lot.

Entry is free to the public and open to all ages.
