CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 68-year-old man died Monday after being struck in a hit-and-run accident Sunday.
John Guerra died of injuries related to blunt-force trauma after investigators said the man was hit by an unknown car that left the scene.
The Corpus Christi Police Department said officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Gollihar Road at 7:10 p.m. Sunday.
Once they arrived, CCPD found a that a pedestrian had been hit. Medics transported the man to a local hospital, and he eventually died.
Officers said the man was pushing a shopping cart down Gollihar outside of the crosswalk while attempting to cross the street.
CCPD also said the man was also crossing the street in the dark.
