Petition for new skate park on The Island collecting signatures

The North Padre Island 'Stoke Brokers' created a change.org petition advocating for a skate park to be built closer to Island residents.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Residents on Padre Island are petitioning the city to bring a skate park closer to them.

Currently there are two parks in Nueces county: one in Port Aransas and one at Cole Park.

The petition states that skateboarding promotes physical activity, creativity, and community engagement.

Once enough signatures have been collected, the petition is expected to be presented during an upcoming council meeting where the fate of a new skate park will be decided.
