Furry friends find foster families for freeze

So far, 22 individuals stepped up to provide a warm home for pets during the harsh cold fronts.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Ahead of the freeze the city's Animal Care Services put out a plea for help to temporarily foster pets to ensure they received the care they needed during the harsh temperatures.

From that call, the foster program has grown as 22 pet lovers stepped up to provide a home for some furry friends.

There are still nine pets eligible to temporarily foster.

As always the organization is always accepting applications for foster families.

If you are interested in fostering an animal before or during the cold front, you can email the department at livereleaseteam@cctexas.com or you can call 361-826-4630.

If you do decide to take one or more in, they will be sent home with food!
