CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The long awaited Ranch Hand Weekend kicked off Friday and continued well into Saturday night.
Saturday morning, hundreds of people started their day with a ranch hand breakfast at the iconic King Ranch. Visitors enjoyed a classic cowboy breakfast with eggs, refried beans, biscuits n' gravy, sausage, tortillas, and cowboy coffee.
Director of hospitality for King Ranch, Lorette Williams said every year hundreds of people flock to the ranch just to get a taste of that cowboy life.
"It's the opportunity for people to come out and really kind of see what the cowboy lifestyle is all about. And it's great for all ages. They get exposed to the cowboy lifestyle and they get to learn more about this historic ranch," said Williams.
Kingsville's Director of Tourism Services Janine Reyes told 3NEWS that Ranch Hand Weekend brings in more than just locals. She said that people come from all over the state and even out of state to take part in the Ranch Hand Breakfast, numerous events downtown and their Saturday night country concert.
"What I love is when people come out to this event and experience this for the first time, just hearing how much they love our community, that sense of community they feel coming out and being a part of such a wonderful weekend," said Reyes.
Ranch Hand Weekend wrapped up Saturday night with a country concert featuring country artists Deana Carter and Joe Nichols.
