CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — First Edition is following the latest updates on the new Harbor Bridge.
Crews are installing more stay cables. When you look at the bridge, you will see those long white cables that support the weight of the structure deck --connected to the towers. When the bridge opens in spring --those stay cables will be lit up at night. Developers say it's safer for crews to work at night --while causing as little disruption as possible to nearby traffic.
One of the upcoming Harbor Bridge Project temporary ramp closures will affect northbound SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway) to eastbound I-37 and northbound US 181. A detour will be in place.
Another temporary nighttime closure to be in effect July 30 – 31 will impact the connector ramp from northbound SH 286 (Crosstown Expressway) to northbound I-37.
Temporary nighttime closure to be in effect Aug. 1.
