CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — As many residents prepare for family and friends this Thanksgiving -- there are children in South Texas who might be spending the holiday in a new or unfamiliar environment. For the third year -- the San Patricio County child welfare board has been helping feed those families for thanksgiving.
During the meal distribution at the Portland community center -- 41 families who are caring for children in the CPS system received meals. Volunteers from Cheniere helped distribute meals -- after campaigning for the last few months to make the distribution possible.
