CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — AEP officials confirmed over 1,400 residents in Sinton and Beeville experienced power outages Wednesday afternoon.
Omar Lopez with AEP told 3NEWS a squirrel got into a substation in Sinton and caused the outage that effected around 1,400 customers.
Right now, there are around 235 residents experiencing outages as crews continue to make repairs in Sinton.
Lopez said strong winds caused the outage in Beeville that also effected about 1,400 customers. He said crews were able to restore power in less than 10 minutes.
