CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Over the past week districts across the Coastal Bend have responded to a flurry of threats with the latest one coming from Sinton on Friday, resulting in the arrest of a student.
According to Sinton Police Department officials, around 10 a.m. E. Merle Smith Middle School officials received a report of a student making threats against the school.
The student was immediately removed from the campus.
It was determined that there was no imminent danger to students or staff, however the student involved was arrested for their actions. Police say that threats against any campus are not a joke and will not be taken lightly.
