CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 20-year-old man was taken into police custody Sunday after allegedly ramming a truck into a building in the 1500 block of Nile Drive before fleeing the scene.
While investigating the crash, officers found a license plate left behind and determined it belonged to the vehicle involved in the wreckage.
That clue led them to a nearby residence less than two blocks away, where they found Nathan Herrera.
Herrera is believed to be the person employees told CCPD hit the building before reversing and leaving the location.
He was placed under arrest for Duty on Striking Structure/Fixture, Fail to Identify, and Resisting Arrest and was taken to the City Detention Center for booking. His truck was impounded.
