CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — 3NEWS has learned that the City of Taft's finance director Leann Goben has resigned and there is currently an active criminal investigation against her.
Taft City Manager Ryan Smith said that he cannot comment further as to why the now former finance director is being investigated. However, Smith did say that in a letter of resignation stamped Sept. 30, Goben expressed her gratitude to the City of Taft and the staff.
