CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Tuloso-Midway High School is one step closer to reaping the benefits of bond 2023 that was passed in November as they plan toward their new career and technical education center.
A meeting was held Tuesday to discuss programming, identifying space, size of space and how much is needed for the future of the center.
According to Superintendent Steve VanMatre, one of the factors that goes into decisions as they move forward includes our local work force.
"The student population obviously, but also the local community needs, your local industry partners, what are their needs, what are the jobs in your local community because really what we are trying to do is service your local community and make sure that they have workforce coming down the pipeline that they could hire or students that come out of high school," VanMatre said.
The superintendent said the center will assist students in meeting industry needs as they approach the end of their high school careers.
Some of the programs included will be vet tech, plant science, gaming and lots more!
