CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Dancing, singing and even reading poems,
It's part of what these students at West Oso ISD are doing to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
Students from pre-K to high school seniors all took part in Friday morning's Hispanic heritage showcase.
Principal of the junior high Dr. Castillo told 3NEWS just how important it is for her students to learn and continue Hispanic cultural traditions.
"It's extremely important that our students learn the traditions and that they're educated on the culture, the Hispanic culture and that those traditions continue to carry on," said Principal at West Oso Junior High School Dr. Criselda Castillo.
Mayor Paulette Guajardo also made an appearance as a guest speaker for the event, she encouraged the students to be good leaders.
