CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — On the heels of Women's History Month it's the perfect time for the kick-off of 'Women in NAACP' or 'WIN' for short.
The Initiative will support the NAACP while allowing women to reach out beyond our city limits to connect with other women, building partnerships and networking with those who have similar hopes and dreams.
Chief of Staff of the H. Boyd Hall Chapter of the NAACP Dr. Angela Portis-Woodson said goal is to advance these ideas and 'win' together.
"It's a great acronym, WIN, because when we are all women together fighting for the same purpose and the same cause, we do win for women all over the world especially women in Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend," Portis-Woodson said.
She said their plans are to follow the goals of the NAACP, highlighting areas of social injustice for women and children, in healthcare, education and many more areas that are vital to the growth of the city.
