CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department was dispatched to the scene of a major single-car traffic accident at 2:00 a.m. on New Year's Day.
According to investigators, a 21-year-old male driver lost control while traveling south on IH 37 at McKinzie, before driving off the roadway and hitting a concrete barrier.
The driver was transported to a local hospital where he died.
CCPD said there were no obvious signs of intoxication, and the driver was the only occupant in the vehicle.
