CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — One local food bank will soon see some major improvements to the programs and services it offers thanks to the help of a grant from the Morgan Stanley Foundation.
On Wednesday, the foundation presented a check to the Coastal Bend Food Bank for $32,954.
Those funds will go toward programs that will help reach more children and families facing hunger in our communities.
Branch manager Michael Farah says their goal is to help families have access to food so they can build toward a successful foundation.
"It's important to us. It starts at the ground level. If people can't have the simple things and the necessities of eating and being involved. If you can't eat and you can't do the simple things of food and shelter and things like that, you can't get a step up in things, getting a job, being successful, getting your education," Farah said.
"So, starting at the bottom floor, ground up helps you get a successful foundation in anything else you do."
