CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — We learned this week that a big honor is in its way to Corpus Christi's very own Mayor Paulette Guajardo.
She'll be awarded this year's Antonio Villaraigosa Leadership Award.
It'll happen at the U.S. Conference of Mayors, during their 40th tribute to the Latino Leaders Network in Kansas City, Missouri.
The award is presented to mayors who've exhibited an outstanding commitment to bringing communities together in a major Latino-serving city.
As mayor of the eighth largest Texas city, Mayor Guajardo is the only female member of Texas' "big city mayors."
Our congratulations to Mayor Guajardo.
