CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — With the help of Walmart and In the Game Funtrackers, Nate's Next Kid Up is ready to present the first annual Heroes' Day event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Walmart in Flour Bluff.
The event is to show appreciation to the military, those who are actively serving and our veterans.
Young philanthropist Nate Gonzalez from Nate's Next Kid Up said the event will feature vendors and food trucks, games, face painting and also opportunities for kids to 'Touch-A-Truck.'
"Every upcoming event is about helping people and I just want to help as many people as I can in the community," he said. "Foster kids, grown-ups, I don't care what age or what disabilities they have, I'm going to help them no matter what."
Heroes' Day is free, but Nate is asking for donations to help with school supplies and food for his back-to-school drives.
