CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A public viewing for South Texas star Johnny Canales will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Selena Auditorium.
The announcement was posted on the El Show de Johnny y Nora Canales Facebook.

News of Canales' death was announced Thursday morning. He was 77 years old.
He gained his legendary status after years of success fronting his Tejano-music variety show "The Johnny Canales Show" that started in 1983.
Many consider Canales as a revolutionary in embracing Mexican-American culture.
On Thursday close friends and admirers shared with 3NEWS about their memories with the local star.
